Animal Planet was seeking to introduce horse jumping to their repertoire. A friend of mine with a horse jump company (one of the only companies to service national competitions) became involved with an investment group that was consulting on Animal Planet's next moves. The channel wanted to sponsor a competition of their own and cover it as a reality show for teens. The Sport Horse Cup became their brand and the buildup to the competition was aired on Animal Planet's channel as two shows, including the more informative "Horse Power". LJ Enterprise was commissioned to build the specialty jumps, which I consulted as a designer. The jumps had to be kid friendly and not intimidating to the horses. The final jumps were tested at the Capitol Challenge in DC and Eastern States. They were used in the Sporthorse Cup and were featured on the television shows.
